The internet has brought us so many amazing innovations in the last few decades. Today, we cannot imagine a life without the internet. Believe it or not, many people didn't share the same sentiments.
Many big shots in the media throughout the years didn’t believe in the mass adoption of the internet because they believed that it was way too difficult for the common person to use.
"The Internet is a FAD, most things that succeed don't require re-training 250 million people." Waring Patridge, Wired Magazine, 1995
How wrong they were! It’s the same thing happening with crypto today and if we learned anything from the internet era: never bet against technology that's more convenient than what's already available.
We have gotten so used to paying with credit cards or cash that it feels like we can't live without them anymore. We also take for granted how easy it is to access information at our fingertips thanks to Google, Facebook and other social media sites.
The same thing will happen with cryptocurrency once more people start using it and start seeing how convenient it is compared to traditional payment methods like PayPal or Venmo. It may not happen overnight but sooner or later we will see mass adoption of crypto payments worldwide!
Why?
The internet democratised information – making it available for everyone with an internet connection. No matter the learning barrier, we eventually saw that the internet would make our lives easier and better.
Today, blockchain technology and crypto are set to do the same for our future. Crypto is democratising finance, ownership and security – making anyone from around the world able to participate in the economy.
A lot of people say they don't own any cryptocurrency because they don't understand it, they don’t know how to use it or they think it's too complicated. However, if you look at your mobile phone right now, do you know how to use it? Or did someone teach you how?
Also, maybe you now know how to dial a number on it, send a text message or use it to browse the internet but do you actually know the inner workings of the phone or the network it operates on? It’s similar to crypto, you can learn to understand how it works through education and coaching… and you do not have to understand all of the inner workings… just enough to be able to use it to do what you want.
As you can see from the image above Bitcoin, just one of the 20,000 available cryptocurrencies in the market, is already growing twice as fast as the internet did. So adoption has been fast and growing even faster.
This means mainstream adoption could be much sooner than we ever experienced before with emerging technology. Sooner or later, crypto will be used by everybody and it will be as common as cash itself - and it will likely even replace cash!
When crypto becomes mainstream you may find yourself wishing you had started learning about it well before it became a part of your life. . We wanted to simplify the crypto journey for people just like you, so we made a FREE mini-course you can access at decryptingcrypto.com
